Feather fans: a noble touch for the Masquerade

Here is a link where you can read an article about the fan through culture, including the feather fans. these accessories typical of the elizabethan era and so used in Masq uerades. In one of our previous article about feathers you will find materials if you feel able to make one which is actually not very difficult if you pick a nice selection of ostrich and peacock feathers. Also in "Saphire and sage" specialized in Renaissance Era reproduction Accessories. They have a wealth of models some even reversible, that will delight you and will add a final touch of nobility into your masquerade set. These ones are not only gorgeous , they're also customizable so you can decide the colour of the beads, color of wood, type of feathers and many other details. I'd love to have one of these in plain black raven mood... (sigh!)

Feather eyelashes: Fantasy in your eyes!

We previously covered in this blog an article about "fantasy contact lenses", if you add now some fantasy false eyelashes, there you got it.... You're not from this world for sure!!! Among the most striking ones that i've found and in a better quality range you can purchase Shu Uemura's false eyelashes, where I hightlight particularly this gorgeous model (about $50 though) handcrafted in light brown and black that you can see on the picture below (Premium velvet in light brown and black). This particular model has been sold several times on ebay too cheaper just looking for "feather eyelashes", but if you're not lucky and have the money to spare, they look amazing and you can always visit official Shu Uemura website.

Spread your angel wings and fly!

Date with an angel

The pic above is a shot of a movie from the eighties called Date with an Angel It really was NOT such a good movie but that kind of romantic and entertaining comedies, BUT the angel wings the main character (gorgeous Emmanuelle Beart) had on the movie always stayed in my mind as what I'd love to wear on stage!! Oh yes, such lovely wings with a very obvious animatronic mechanism...! and thus and we´ll cover soon also a post about flapping mechanisms and also some tutorials, harnesses and other gadgets to move your wings live.

Feathers of all kind and colours!!!

Yes, I know it's much easier to purchase already made angel wings but if you're good at crafts you can really attempt to make something really awesome with this, from a barn owl cloak feather to angel wings, collards, feather chokers... possibilities are as inmense as the variety of colours. In Art Creations by Shir Lee shop lists a myriad of feather kinds and usually has also wholesale packages and discounts... I have got some iridescent feathers for me :) and some feather pads which I find particularly great for gauntlets or headpieces as to use them as the trim of a cloak.
