You´ll find also some lovely pendants and accessories like this leaf  (using fallen leaves dipped in metals) pendant. All wood come from fallen branches.

Above: Real copper dipped oak leaf! With carnelian and wood beads for accent.

She also has listed some accessories like leather bracers and cuffs with hand painted eye balls which gives the items a steampunk, sci-fi or creepy air. See example below:

She also makes  leather masks and even bamboo flutes cute  accessories for pixie and forest dwellers.

As the artworks of Karen run into multidisciplinary fields and different styles I asked her to define and describe her works and she was kind enough to share with us her sources of inspirations and nature of her creations. So in the words of the artist self:

"Well trying to pin down my own work for me is a little like catching smoke. I am always on the lookout for new materials and cooking up new ideas. I get inspired by all things fantasy, sci-fi, and horror, with a healthy dose of mysticism and nerdyness. I've kind of always been this way and Im more than certain I get it from my father. The guy builds robots for a living (no I am serious). He was fascinated by ILM (industrial light and magic) and so he was also building models and costumes all the time when I was a kid.

So in mimicking him I started making things from anything I can get my hands on. Week to week I may be working in anything from paper mache, leather, sewing, painting, woodwork, sculpting, design, and so on. I don't really consider myself a master of any of these mediums but I do consider myself quite resourceful in coming up with unique solutions to various design issues that crop up. Its also part of the mental flexibility that allows someone to see a mundane object or set of objects and reinvent their intended purpose. What was a pile of old newspapers and a roll of duct-tape becomes the base-form for a dragons skull or massive horns. Scrap wood becomes a canvas."

Above:  Southern Civil War dress reminiscent of Disney Classic Cinderella and is made of Light blue and white taffeta.  It has short puffy sleeves with elastic at the shoulders and arms, which can be worn on or off the shoulders.  There is light blue flat lace sewn on the bodice with a blue bow and flower sewn in the center as well as blue bows sewn on each sleeve.   The bodice and sleeves are fully lined, and the dress laces down the back with grommets and has a modesty panel.  Sometimes they  list a model very similar to Belle yellow dress from The Beauty and the Beast.

This Midnight Blue  Southern Belle model reminds me to the one shown in Stardust movie They make really prom gowns by themselves too. Or maybe it's me that I love the vintage times!

Hot to dress like a sexy Mrs Claus this Christmas

sexy mrs claus santa helper

Again  the year is getting close to Christmas season...! Lights are sparkling in the street, everybody seems to be happier despite the cold weather... diets can go to hell... time for candy and misbehave!.  Time to remember our last year article about chrismas elfs  now that my mailbox is starting to be spammed with the "elf yourself" pictures of my friends.... Anyway...

Here we go now talking about Mrs Claus and Santa Baby helpers... Becuase let´s face it, dressing like an old woman with big curves and glasses might not be the smartest (though sweet) option to be the "queen of the party" (private or not ;-))

So here some tips to become a younger sexier Mrs Claus this Christmas

Becoming a sexy Mrs Claus is very easy to start with as there are a wealth of adult versions of the costume. It's something that you can easily swear yourself, as basically any combination of reds and whites will do. There are some sites exclusively devoted to give ideas for this character like misssantafancydress.org.uk A faux fur white trim and red wood is all you may need. But there are very cheap and ready to go "naughty" Mrs Claus... And infinite possibilities regarding red lingerie that you can easily customise. Some tips and ideas can be taken from another article we made about another character fonds of reds "Queen of Hearts"

The etsy store sparkleeyes has some "pin up" 50's glamour  styled verions that would differ a bit of the standard adult costumes available elsehwere

Of course red and white striped socks is always a sexy accessorie to add!

  striped red socks chrismas
And don't forget a red hat... you can always use a floral crown that you can make using wire and fake faux flowers. Mistletoe is the must for the season and really easy to find as decoration items. Using branches and winter fruits maybe even red beads you can make a more faery version of Mrs Claus, but if wanting to state clear what's your dress about don't forget your Santa Claus hat.... During december you can find them everyhere, even in you local store, for really no money This is the season, or make it yourself (I did one for my hamster!!) You don't believe me??? look!

   cute hamster santa claus totonika
And I'm sorry lady cos Totonika is the cutest and sexiest and most wonderful Mrs Claus ever! :) and no matter how hard you try!

Getting serious...If you're like me, maybe the all above versions are a bit "too much" for you.  Guess I'm a vintage formal lady... but being formal doesn't mean that you can't be pretty and sexy as Mrs Claus... but we´ll move now on in a slightly different direction :) for options. :)

    Dark Angel Red corset

Above: Red brocade corset by The Dark Angel fairy company, one of my favorite clothing stores on earth!! They have matching red organza cloaks togo along with it and the combination is outstanding!

I parituclarly like this white chemise to go with it, it's sold by a store called Faire Lady that  we feature previously in your fantasy costume. They also have it in red, as well as some really nice red garments and bodices for this purpose.

Below: Mrs Claus (or Red Riding Hood) renaissance dress from another previously featured store Speedy Stitches. Another elegant yet lovely option.

To end (for now as I may update during this month) you can opt too (if the need is to be elegant) for a promo gown in white and reds and then add a funny santa hat or crown as hint of your dress. There are some chinese inexpensive stores that have prom gowns all full and quite amazing for the matter. I've highlighted this store called    zhangxia888 because of the following two matching models they list.

Stargazer: fake eyelashes, uv body paint and other fancy cool things

As we previously covered other brands of theatre make up as  Kryolan or MAC we are now going to talk about a british company called Stargazer.

Stargazer was in the late seventies in UK and is still based in that country producing the great majority of their products in house .Since the eighties they started to expand to reach a wider audience and until present day they have expanded including  a wide range of cosmetics and coloring products with vibrant colors that have become a reference among the underground, Glam,  Gothic and alternative stores not only for the myriad of hues they offer but also because they are really affordable.

Above: UV body paint. Glow in black light. Great for partys. I have the white one and really works great. Stargazer has a collection of really eye-catchy colors for body paint that remove easily just with water. They also have some shiny metallic hues like gold and silver.

Stargazer also works with hair products  Semipermanent hair dyes that last up to 20 washes and also sprays and gels that wash off with a single shampoo with all those not so daring with a change or drastic look. You can find all sorts of colors great for cosplayers as they cover all those rare hues like  violet and plume and pink you underground Marie Antoinettes!!
