Plumevine: Enchanted Jewelry for fairies and AURYN to grant your wishes

Plumevine is a collection of enchanted Jewelry pieces designed by  Norwegian artist and crafter Lorianne Jänttim pieces designed with the most delicate intricacy as a worshio offering to magical creatures. Definitely magical. All the pieces are made by hand from resin clay which is sculpted meticulously and embellished with a wide variety of finds of mostly vintage origin. The process of painting is also multi-layered in order to achieve the most perfect finished result and meant for durability. Little treasures inspired by nature and the tangle of tree brances... certainly items to treasure. There are so many pieces (earrings, rings necklaces that you will crave and fall in love with...)

Sublime Style: Romantic, Burlesque, Sublime!

I met personally fellow writer and  illustrator Muriel Dal Bo at a festival, this green eyed sparkling beauty, with mischiveous yet cute expression appeared in a lovely imperial-cut gown so gorgeous that you couldn't help to stare at the dress. She told me she had made it herself, and I knew her works as illustrators but wondered then, oh my god, this woman should launch a line of clothing. Shortly after this became a reality and Sublime Style was born in 2009 with a first collection of romantic, fairy, and princess gowns... A touch of undeniable romanticism and dark vintage that will delight the dark souls but also those longing ladies that were meant to wear the elegant garments of previous centuries.  Later on they went on a "Burlesque" line

Costumes are made for real women, trying to enhance the curves of the woman figure. Inspired by Art Noveau, Prerraphaelite, Boticelli... sublime style brings back the concept of classical beauty.

Above: "Mignon Rose" Romantic dress with ballerina skirt

I'm an avid reader of Jane Austen´s Novels, so can you imagine attending to a ball with this lovely regency  ivory lace gown? This one is just sooo perfect.

Muriel fuses genres and shows versatile examples of historical, victorian, burlesque, circus, even fantasy, Steampunk  and medieval attires. For fair princesses  or fallen angels, light or shades, but never decadent.

And not only costumes but also lovely accessories like gloves. I happen to have a pair of white ones myself and I cannot highlight enough how in love I am with them (will share a picture with them on very soon) but meanwhile you can see a picture of them, they belong to the "ethereal gothic complements collection and they're as ghostly as these:

Above: "Ethereal pure" white lace gloves, the ethereal collection is also very suitable for bridal fashion.

There are also coquette bags and chokers. Delicious like the following examples

Gothic burlesque Bag and Choker

Pieces have  limited stock and  are hand-made. We´re not dealing with cheap massive production but exquisite and dedicated crafting the high quality fabric, trims and beads.

And you just have to have  a look to the official website

If you want to see also some independent and custom designs you can visit the gallery  and  network with the designer at the official Sublime Style facebook page.

Also feel free to contact Muriel herself at murielfay@hotmail.com and require info about catallog, stock  and prices.

because it's... it's... SUBLIME!

We predict a wonderful future for the  clothing line, it has grown enormously in such a short time. Highly recommended.

How to dress like Legend of the seeker Mother Confessor

"The legend of the seeker" (2008-2010)  is a fantasy/sword and sorcery television series based on the sword of truth series written by Terry Goodking. It  Though I confess I couldn't see myself the entire tv series what I do remember is the really glorious white pretty dress of one of the characters had, Mother Confessor Kahlan Amnell performed by Bridget Regan .  The confessor wears in white to symbolize the truth and though it looks like a medieval gown, it´s more an overcoat allowing smooth fighting movements. With a hood a bit reminiscent to Jedi fashion and those long floating sleeves the result is really striking. Supernatural looking but comfortable. Despite not being a great fan of the series (maybe because I didn't catch it at the right time when being aired) all shots of the actress purely white in the dark forests are striking!. The highlight of the garment is a laced front that makes it very sexy ;-) as a Halloween, fantasy con or Cosplay option.

Here´s a tutorial of how to make it (if you feel crafty at sewing. Doesn't look like a complicated one, though you may pay attention to the fabric chosen. The movement of the dress in the series is important, and thus stay away of any cheap-looking  shiny crushed velvets and opt for a flowing matte ivory-white color. Here´s a link with some advices of How to make a Kahlan dress yourself
They use as a basis for the main body and long sleeves a pattern that I had (yayy) had previously purchased myself so I'm definitely going to give a try myself. The sewing pattern in question is McCal M4491 Renaissance Medieval Gowns. (this works too for making quite a few LOTR medieval dresses too by the way)
medieval gown sewing pattern

There's a shop in Etsy called "Trapped in time designs"  that also makes custom  and already made Kahlan white overdress as the picture shown below

Crinoline_2009 in ebay sells a rather lovely replica made on good quality white velour of the white overdress (and also in black! which looks great by the way. It lace up front and back fitting your silhuette perfectly.  They list also "Legend of the seeker" inspired items too.

Above:  White overdress ''Mother Confessor'' of the popular television series ''Legend Of The Seeker'' made by Crinoline_2009
Beautiful long dress with a very large hood covering the shoulders, lace-up front and back to fit perfectly to your silhouette.Very long sleeves, split front, pretty black and white trim around the arm. And also available in BLACK if you simply love the design but you are a gothic "I love black  despite all things"

This other seller also have the Kahlan Green travelling coat, another gorgeous outfit that the character displays throughout the series.

Legend of the seeker tv series sadly only run for two seasons, but the beautiful costumes lasted long in our memory.
