Atelier des Elfes: Jewelry for Noble elves, crowns and circlets

anfymariage244

L´atelier des elfes is  a lovely french site that features a collection of the most gorgeous pieces for your elvish characterization.  From head circlets and crowns to brooches and belts, it features a collection of accesories that would add the final touch  of your lotr crown. In fact it has accurate replicas of Celeborn’s silver-plated belt and Galadriel’s crown among other lovely items inspired in elves and fairies and some even with an oriental motif. Items are a bit pricy but certainly exclusive. I particularly loved also the earrings that extends over the cheeks.

Pendragon shoes… delightful weird magical footwear!

Pendragon shoes is one of the most amazing and strange shoe  exclusive handcrafted leather shoes. This company is a Queensland based duo of designer shoemakers Jacqueline Orme Ward and Adrian Lockwood that have worked for several projects in theater and cinema including the recent and successful film “Peter Pan” by Warner Bros (that by the way is a wonderful version with a pretty soundtrack from James Newton Howard to go along with)

The site also offer  some “ready to wear” and more affordable models from which I hightlight the following and pretty leaf sandals

You can also watch some haute couture and exclusive models with outstanding designs that you’ll be yearning for… (sigh!). From some really… excentric and unconvetional models to  burlesque boots and Marie Antoniette, Jester, or the wonderful and feeric models for Titania and Oberon.

Elf yourself this christmas but with a real costume

I’ve received a trillion newsletters with the fancy “elf yourself” website that turns a picture of you into a christmas elf… honestly I think it takes a little effort to dress yourself like it and really we’re approaching this very special season…. It’s a good time to watch cartoon and familiar movies on tv and cinemas and I admit it’s one of my favourite moments of the year… despite the weather (coughs with a cold!!). Maybe it has to be with the sparkling lights and all those tiny sparkling things everywhere…  Like Jack Skellington said in “A Nightmare before Xmas” …”what’s this? what’s this? there’s colour everywhere….”, or if you are more fond of the classical and sweeter “Polar Express” which portrayed them so covered with sugar that could trigger diabetes. Still with measure and all in between you can do it for your children, or even turn it into a less naive thing combining different elements, and well, it’s the season, isn’t it? so here we go with a few recommendations: So yes anything RED, GREEN AND GOLDEN will suit… !!

First of all, in need of pointy ears… please check this other article we covered previously in your fantasy costume about elf and latex pointy ears

Not to say that striped tights are so useful for witches, goblins, pixies, Jesters, fairies and almost whatever elfin creature you might imagine. And on girls they look so hot! ;-) . There’s also some really nice elf lingerie out there if you want to “surprise” your partner privately, click below for some examples.

On the other hand tights themselves also work, for this or any other topic.

Of course green and red tights will always work, wether striped or jester-like.  Once you get that be imaginative and pick a proper pair of shoes.

I particularly liked this hat, i think it’s a nice “casual wear” touch for the holiday!! if you’re shy!

I also would pick this lovely yet simple dress for Santa helpers, It looks like very easy to be done!!

I also particularly like the “Gabriel Dress” from the Dark Angel clothing website, in red or green velvet to then customize it with christmas ornaments.

ahh AND MERRY XMAS EVERYONE!!

The Changelling closet: Fashion accessories for the Fairy people!

Liselotte  Eriksson is a swedish artist and  photographer who also dares to design an enjoyable collection of items and fashion accessories that goes  from horns to hats and even wings and hairpins, with the design of the artist self to enhance its uniqueness  that would delight any fairy or faun.  Recently launched it promises to increase the catalog of her delicious fairy store THE CHANGELLING CLOSET.

Her goal  is to supply not only costume items, but also every day wear inspired by nature, Faerie, folklore and myth.  Recycling materials and Usthrifted materials and found objects when possible, thus keeping the prices down while also being friendlier to the environment yet still with a great flavour of one-of-a-kind  that on her words think it “adds a certain quirky charm to the pieces”,  but at extremely affordable prices.

Up: horns and elf ears

I find the hats so adorable…  just judge yourself, they’re absolutely original! and certainly gives me so many ideas!! I had the chance to meet Liselotte in person when I performed in the Fairy Ball (UK) last year, she was indeed one of the most original atendees with a garment made of all sort of recycled materials… it really catched my eye… and now it makes all sense to see this lovely store launched…!!

You’ll find a collection of several horns and pointed ears,  headpieces,  hand-painted bags… and even some lovely pendants made out of natural acorns… Just dive in!!
