Halloween angel or fairy eye make up tutorial

Interesting videotutorial by this girl that holds an entire make up channel in youtube. For the video she’s using MAC (professional make up) but it shows at real time speed and you can attempt to make something similar with your own eye shadows and brushes. I think the final effect is really stunning so have fun!
Though of course you can use your own make up, the fact is that MAC make up pigments are stunning and I myself have a very sensitive skin, so after trying many make up brands, most of mine is actually from theirs. You can purchase MAC make up here, you won’t regret, it’s the best make up ever. ENJOY!

Products used in this video tutorial:
MAC shadestick~ sharkskin
MAC eye shadow~ Tilt
MAC eye shadow~ beautiful iris

This fairy look can be enhanced also with fx contact lenses to make the overall effect entirely otherwordly. I suggest you to read again our article about them.

Feather eyelashes: Fantasy in your eyes!

We previously covered in this blog an article about “fantasy contact lenses”, if you add now some fantasy false eyelashes, there you got it…. You’re not from this world for sure!!!

Among the most striking ones that i’ve found and in a better quality range you can purchase Shu Uemura’s false eyelashes, where I hightlight particularly this gorgeous model (about $50 though) handcrafted in light brown and black that you can see on the picture below (Premium velvet in light brown and black). This particular model has been sold several times on ebay too cheaper just looking for “feather eyelashes”, but if you’re not lucky and have the money to spare, they look amazing and you can always visit official Shu Uemura website. I wonder how they stay in shape if you sweat on the stage of if you’re caught in the rain… and most importantly if the bigger models are comfortable, but if you’re looking for “fine quality” I think this one is of the best options and have different models in different price ranges that you can choose from. But If you are looking for an alien, dryad or fairy look the Premium models of Shue Uemura’s are big enough to make you look even weird (in a fantasy way!)

Of course you can find some “chinese” cheap feather eyelashes in Holy ebay!! like KK-HC center (ebay store) I really doubt of the quality of these, though i’m about to order some to give a try, some are nice looking and actually considering false eyelashes are somehow a deleterous item, these offers rather cheap prices (even including the often abusive shipping costs from chinese product sellers). Below I post some that I find interesting.

I’ve also put an eye on this lovely model made by Stargazer looks really lovely for gothic and burlesque, I think I might give a try to this model that is one of my favorites among this trademark. They make it in purple too and other colours.

Here are some other shops where you can find false and feather eyelashes like classylashes (UK based), devious wigs (USA based) where you can find some tipped models.

Probably I will re-catch this article after a little experience with then ;-) .

Sclera lenses… an otherwordly sight!

Yes, they are creepy….

Sclera lenses are fx contact lenses that cover most of the eye surface. Yes, you’ve seen them many times in movies!!! From the full blackout (that will make you look as a feeric creature or alien) to the complete white that will make you look blind (and in this particular case, you cannot see through them either), but even if some can limit your sight, you’ll see perfectly through most of the models.

Disclaimer: In USA you’ll need a prescription to purchase them if you don’t have sight problems… I’m spanish and here you can buy them freely but unfortunately the models around here are much more restricted in number and variation. In any case you have to be aware that you DO HAVE to take care of your eyes purchasing a high quality lense, made of a material highly oxygen permeable. This is very important because your eye needs to breath in order not to cause an irreversible injury. You are supposed NOT TO wear them over your own contact lenses (piggybacking) so if you need them powered the handicap is that  they’re only made up to some gradation. If for that reason and at your own risk you decide to wear it over your own contact lenses, please DO NOT DO it for long. I’ve been told that they’re difficult to insert so prepare yourself for some practise…but isn’t it worth the effort?
On the other hands quite expensive (sighs!) and will cost you around 280-300$ and up. Take into account that they’re not meant to be used for long periods. We all know the less expensive fx lenses but they also lasts much less. If you take proper care of your sclera lenses they can last up to one year.

Sigh …. In my wish list I’d love to grave a model of the “whiteout sclera” (some of my “raven children” designs in my drawings have precisely this kind of pattern)

For european dwellers you can visit for example

fashion Contact lenses (based in UK)

and this other one based in Netherlands which have one of the largest catalog  I have found: Fantasy city. They also have some fx make up too.

For an IMPRESSIVE COLLECTION OF MODELS (not only of scleral lenses but also of all kinds of fancy and fx lenses) don’t miss this other  page (US based) called COSPLAY LAB though you will need prescription for these. Simply amazing! My favourites are the “whiteout sclera”, the “corvinus”, “lucian” sclera and from the non sclera models”zombified”, “lilith” and “succubus” hmm, no I wouldn’t mind to grab  (or gifted) any of those…!
