Katwise: Amazing fantasy colorful recycled pixie-fairy tribal coats

Yes, they're crazy and insanely cute!  Living now in a farm near New York and after travelling the world quite a few times Kat  O´sullivan is devoted now to make this lovely, mad and outstandingly beautiful sweater art infused by her adventurer free-spirited heart. You can find coats in every color of the rainbow or with all their colors at the same time! Every season, every landscale...Or black for gothic raven souls, or earthy green mossy and browns for dryads and forest dwellers... some with pointy super long hoodies for naughty pixies!! Put one of this coat over your daily wear and your total image will be completely transfixed into a daring fairy look.

They look super cozy and durable too. The sweaters have also some "hippie" flavor but the overall mood is that they are very fairy like. High quality Elf couture recycling materials  that Kat has been making for over two decades now with a lovely eco friendly message and outstanding design that has been often imitated afterwards.  Katwise happiness and love for nature vibrancy is highlighted in the uniqueness of every piece, they're all one of a kind and two are never quite the same,  out of the hands of a skillful and passionate crafter.

Above: winter coat... it leaves me speechless...!

Above: Other of my favorites given my latest weakness for green

They may look a bit pricy (around 300 $ for the deluxe coats) but if you see the amounts of different pieces and rags in the pattern that has to be rather maddening difficult to make, so looks like they're very fair price considering the work they involve and that is not a cheap Chinese industrial massive production but a hand finished item. Also in the unlikely case that you wouldn't find one to fall in love with right away (I am CRAVING FOR THAT WHITE WINTER CLOAK (a hundred sighs!)  you can still order a custom size or color, they encourage to contact for custom work. They can make from small sizes to extra large for your perfect fitting. Though they have quite a few "already to ship" listings in their Katwise Etsy store. They also have an official site  but  I recommend to check the etsy listings first and network with Katwise in facebook so you can see the latest pictures in their photo gallery.

This burgundy tatterdemalion coat is reminiscent of a autumnal cascade of Japanese maple leaves. It has a double-zip front, a tie waist, a crazy-quilt pocket, and a long pointy hood.

Do you want to see this lovely coats floating and spinning their colors for your eyes delight!

Bags of Avalon: Fairy bags for daily wear

me with my custom bag of Avalon

Morgaine is a german fantasy lover girl that is making now some cute wool bags she's entitled "Bags of Avalon".

I got already two ones in my Pobox, one for me and one for Totonika my hamster (yes for my hamster) and she was so happy as you can see in her own site here. Mine is a cute green bag with ivy and a rose. My fairy-garden bag as I call it... and it has awaken passions wherever I go, cos yes, it has become my daily wear bag LOL... so I had some lovely comments like "it´s so green" "you have a garden bag" or "you got a plant in your bag" and yes.... those are sweet compliments for me LOL... and yes it's green, and it's not that easy being green (as Kermit from the muppets say) but I do do love it LOL. So thanks to Morgaine and her "bags of Avalon"  for sending this gift and check her facebook profile to network with her and see her little catallogue there while she prepares a separate shop, she´s selling them over there, she has some cute ones and also can make it custom color. Average price of the bag is only 10 Eur and up and it's obviously hand made (and considering reaction of people around me) certainly eye-catchy. Also it's a cute idea if you know how to hand knit one as they seem rather simple to make if you grab some fake vines or flowers :)

Tips to turn your old discarded t-shirts into pixie wear

Well for once I'm posting an article of something I'm making for myself for fun and not about  a store. As you know I'm a performer and singer-songwriter in the fantasy/fairy genre and that's why I like so much fantasy clothing and the reason I created this blogs so wanted to share my latest addiction  for customizing old t-shirts and discarded clothes into pixie fairy urban wear. That way I can dress on a daily basis with garments that are not a full costume but a subtle pixie touch and it only takes like ten minutes. The trick is to cut everything pointy, and stretch the fabric so it doesn't fray, you can also bend it and make little symmetric holes and if you have a sewing machine and a little zigzag at the border to make the fringe bulge a little bit. You can use different pieces of cotton and layer some pointy layers here and there and you have this "ready to go" result out of your old t-shirts in no time!. I have now quite a few t-shirts that my hamster  Totonika has full of little holes lol! so had to make something out of them. Hope you find it inspiring. Here's a pic of the result. (sorry just normal pic at my flat) but well it shows the thing!  I feel so creative now about my old things!

Twisted Whimsey: Skilled mother and daughter from Australia share their handmade treasures

Mother and daughter team Jo and Cassie live in South-East Queensland, Australia and have teamed creating Twisted Whimsey shop
featuring their one of a kind creations inspired in nature, fairy lore and their heart and spirit. The items are very original and range from  hats to  fairy wings and masks... oh and even customized fantasy shoes! All items are rather different and obviously comes from different moments of inspiration, I guess these two enjoy wearing what they create and there's something of exultant happiness in all their pieces.

Above: Winter Headpiece

In their own words "The creations of 'Twisted Whimsey' may be inspired by anything from the title of a song to sunlight through a leaf and the curl of an ocean wave.

Reminiscent of the wild wood in summer when berries are brightening the hedgerows and the faeries are giddy with the abundance summer bestows. The twisted stems of brilliant red berries are subtly complemented by dark leaves brushed with the purple of coming fall.
