Your Fantasy Costume

Moresca is a New York based company specialized in fairy-tale, fantasy and renaissance costumes. I had the chance to see the wonderful bodices, garments, gowns and accesories when I attended as performer to the faeriecon last 2009.

I fell in love with the seagull short bodice but I wasn’t fast enough! people grabbed them in one day… as lovely as they were. I’ll probably will be getting this one for a videoclip. I think it’s heavenly adorable. It belongs to the MORESCA  “seagull” collection, though I think of an “artic wolf” too and that’s the way I want to characterize myself with it.

For those bellydancers and girls with a body that can provide grace to this, there were absolutely stunning tribal pieces like the own below. A fellow performer used a red set and she was looking absolutely great.

In the fairy ball also the faery bodices (that you can actually order in different colors, brocades and  floral ornaments) were pretty popular and despite sharing design they were all different and certainly customized and unique…  This is on the ohhh wouldn’t mind list too.

Oh I just needed to share also  pouch like this one… they’re so faery. They have a wealth of wonderful bags, so pretty that I’d not been able to pick one!

Talking about bigger things, there are also some unique and one of a kind items… and they’re indeed showing they are…!!  From simple (yet very sexy) hooded velvet capes and dresses to fairytale luxurious models.

ahh and for men too!! tons of options for Prince charming and other Castle inhabitants…!!

Tututopia is a shop based in UK that specicalizes in tutus, as simple as that. As you’re about to find out, tutus are not only for ballerinas but also for anyone inclined to wear something really cute and magical.  You’ll find they have all colors, all possibilities, different models, ways to make custom orders, from very short to long full skirts for being used as underpinnings, some original and lovely bustle models and  also some lovely ragged pixie fairy styled ones… And yes in any color of the rainbow the human eye can see and also you can combine your own pallette to render a multi coloured stripped or overlayered custom version.  There are sizes for children and for adults… lovely for fairy festivals but also a “pixie” touch for urban fairy wear lovers.

Last Faeriecon (a fantasy fairy convention taking place each year in the east coast, in which by the way I’ve been performer myself the latest two years)  some of my friends from band Woodland and Faun where showing off their fancy top hats…  Hmm  I should have followed the clues into “Luna Rana” stand but it was way too hectic for me to visit the booths then, and now I’m trying to catch up with all the cool stuff that I missed .

There’s another lovely shop called Silver leaf Costumes that features some delightful top hats too. I’d this one in Steampunk style.  They also have some lovely mini hats and are lovely too. And my favourite from them . I think I’m still more on my leprechaun side . I certainly wouldn’t mind to have one of these (listed also in lovely red)

They all looked like Mad-Hatters in a lovely way and I couldn’t get out the poster of upcoming Tim Burt0ns Alice in Wonderland movie. Sure this girl is going to increase the sales of her hats by the time the movie is out.

If you want to go on investigating that line. He  looks weird huh? I sort of love the make up so…

This is a make up tutorial to mimic the Mad Hatter´s from Tim Burton’s next upcoming Alice in Wonderland movie. By the way for the tutorial they’re using “glamour doll eyes” eyeshadow that I certainly recommend as they have some striking color mineral eye shadows.

Kryolan is a brand of professional, theatre and fx make up that I use for my performances. Among all make up brands I always recommend MAC (that we’ve previously mentioned) and Kryolan. As both have really high quality products, Kryolan is more focused to FX make up.  It has all you may need, from fake eyelashes (remember our previous article about eyelashes) to anti-shine powder, iridescent, shimmering and glow in the dark make up. Basically it has two different sets of colors, a collection based in water (Aquacolor), that blends the colour  as nice as a watercolor palette. They’re super for body and face painting, though if you’re wearing it too long or in sweating conditions they have another brand of make up based in oil and absolutely indestructible unless you use a cleaning milk. Important thing (at least for me) is that so far I know  they don’t experiment with animals!! I have a very very sensitive skin and I feel super-comfortable with the aquacolor brand.

Also if you’re intending into a further transformation (getting old, becoming a zombie) they work with wax, putty and latex too for special fx make up. And of course they have spirit-gum similar glues and removers. There’s no limit regarding the color and materials provided to become whatever you want to be.

As we previously covered in our article about Vampire Fangs, if you’re intending to be a vampire, zombie  or monster this halloween, you may be in need of fake blood. I forgot to mention then that Kryolan works precisely with theatre fake blood up to 5000 ml bottles of pro fake blood (easily washable from your skin and clothes) and in two shades: light and gory dark.
