Well, As you all know this year one of my dreams came true, meeting Brian, Wendy and Toby Froud, all of them involved in one of my favourite movies (Labyrinth (1986)). I premiered in USA both in faerieworlds and faeriecon, and had the chance to meet these lovely people, but also crafters of magic. Now it's hard to believe that the baby from Labyrinth (Toby) has grown to become as talented as his parents... I performed this in Faeriecon but Brian was ill, though Toby and Wendy were there, and thus wanted to share it, so Brian can see it (hope you get better soon). Messing alone in my house with my keyboard I recorded this very simple romantic and sad approachment to my favourite song in the soundtrack "WITHIN YOU". In this case it's entirely live in my keyboard and home studio (except for the final chimes) and thus it's as simple as it is, but not with less spirit I hope. It's curious when I first got the internet years back and before becoming an artist, I met so many friends in Labyrinth Marysia's boards I'm still in touch with, and curiously enough we're all still obsessed about Jareth, Sarah and the Labyrinth!! I do not own this song, or the images of the movie, that i just re-edited, and covered for fun and as a dedicatory and tribute and thus this song is not for sale or included in any of my works, but I've dared to upload it to youtube for my friends, the Frouds, and for my laby friends too (yay, I know one of you already saw it ;-) yes you know who you arre (points at Astrid!!), thanks for encouraging me, I was afraid of covering this song as there's simply no way to beat the Goblin King.

Ok, well it was fun!!!
Faeriecon just took place in Philadelphia (USA), and we're back (this time safe, we took a taxi from the airport) I had fun in the balls though it's always risky to perform not with your actual band, it was my pleasure to share the stage with friends from Woodland and Trillian green to support me (the the theatre's ghost, Trocadero was really haunted). Faeriecon was a bittersweet experience as Brian Froud was ill and Alan Lee´s mother died :(, and Omnia had to cancel at last minute so I couldn't meet them either... Still in the middle of the frantic moments, I had so much happiness meeting with Kelly and Emilio, my lovely and sweet friends from woodland, and Robert, Stephanie, River, Storm, Kimmy, Katie, Susan Scroder, Jen Delyth, Jasmine, Wendy and Toby Froud and sooooooooo soooooooo many others that I can't stop this smile of my face of having been able to be with you. I know I missed a few people too...!!

 

If you attended and have pictures please send me a private message so i can give you an e-mail,  as most of you know I lost my camera last august, and i'm on the way to replace it, so I'll thank all the memories to be sent... We used our friend Emilio's one for some pics in the convention but we lack pics of our set.

I brought a few limited prints of  Susan's Schroder photography of me (ty!) so i'll make a contest for vip members the following days to give away a copy.

We premiered two new songs there "northern light" and "the long way"  (both songs included in my new album on the making) and also performed a little exerpt from "into the labyrinth"

Among the great things happening too, meeting my friend and also singer-songwriter Hannah Fury!!! She was lovely.

I also got a wonderful gift from Goblinroad (a cloak), my friend linda gave me a red dress (ty!!) and River a special glass cup with the yidneth logo carved in glass, and Hannah a  little tiny ghost in a bottle... among other things...! IT WAS GREAT TO SEE YOU ALL AND I'll miss you!

My friend and fantasy photographer Susan Schroder gifted me yesterday an awesome photowork, she took the photo of me when I visited USA in faerieworlds, and now she's completed "the ghost and the fairy" (following the subtitle of Ancient Shadows and interpreting my music in it), judge yourselves, I thinks she's so talented and i'm so honoured, she'll be at the faeriecon booth and will share the profits of the poster with me to help me in all the misfortunate robbery thing. I may have also a few copies there for sale.
and now Susan's work :) featuring me :) thank you!!!

To add more Susan forwarded some of the session pictures to a friend of hers, Tommy from Imythyou.com and another approachment called "le fade papallona" was made. Both can be seen in my fan art gallery (among also two sketches) that illustrator "Hawk" made of me and Kelly in Farieworlds.

Next October I'll premier in the USA East  Coast (Philadelphia) along with fellow bands like Qntal (Germany), Woodland (USA), Trillian Green(USA)  and Omnia (Netherlands). I'll be opening the good and bad faery ball, also will attend the faeriecon where i'll be signing cds in a stand and will have more time to hang out with friends.

Among the guests of honour Alan Lee (award winner designer for "The Lord of the Rings")  and Brian and Wendy Froud (The Dark Crystal, Into the Labyrinth)

Below the story of it all...

This is a bittersweet story, it happened last August when we came back from our USA gig :(, I've had

when flying back it was exhausting, we had to
go from portland to chicago, then to zurich and then to Spain. We were
exhausted and willing to get home...
but THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A five pages in depth interview and article about Priscilla Hernández has been published in the summer 2008 issue of the american magazine FAERIE MAGAZINE , already available in Book Stores all over the country.

USA gig was lovely, awesome... but then just being getting home, I'VE BEEN ROBBED all I had!!!
This is a bittersweet story, it happened two days ago but I've gathered no strenght to post it till now :(, I've had the greatest of times in Oregon, and in Faerieworlds, it was awesome, the people, my band supporters, Woodland, the Frouds, Robert, the Greenman, the storyteller ... I miss them so much already...I got a wonderful gown from Linda "Glory gowns" and a double ocarina from Charlie Hind, and a crystal pendant from River, and a pair of raven wings from Kelly and a gorgeous oscar drum from tribal thunder, it felt like xmas... the stars, the forests... the magic... it was absolutely beyond any word (i'll post about this in a few days once the black atmosphere clears out)

Just as soon as we stepped from the airbus airport two big guys attacked us robbed all our studio equipment and personal belongings, they poured a substance over us and they wanted the black case in which we carried all important things, so we've been stolen all the cash we made in faerieworlds, our laptop, our mobile studio and soundcard, our photocamera, our hardrive with our data, our videocamera, all our memories, our flat and car keys, our passports, and almost everything of value I had with me, thanks god they didn't took my carry on so my original paintings are safe. I'm pretty sure we were spotted and they did know which case they wanted.

we even had to pay over 800 dollars just to break into our flat and change the lock :(
we're absolutely uncovered and we had no insurance and we're in need of replacing some of the working staff to prepare our concert in the faeriecon... not to add I am hideously scared and unsafe and I'm considering even to leave Barcelona now ...
we were not insured so now it seems to be lost, at least we're not hurt

as much as I loved this town, I feel it's maybe too big to feel safe, and my health is rather precarious to cope with this kind of scares :(
Police told us though we've been lucky because the same band attacked last sunday with violence another couple in same circumstances, but they offered resistance and are not so lucky to be not injured as we are

Today i'm feeling slightly better, haven't been able to sleep or eat in two days :(
and I need to center a little bit to cope with what i've lost, my memories, data, after all the economical part was important and something i can't hardly get covered when i was trying to save for making my next release which was actually delayed... for me the priority was to save for the release and now I go back to scratch!

anyway they can steal the good memory I carry with me from my new family there
and I'm deeply grateful to all the people who is sending me pictures and videos of the event now that we're lost ours.
i'm now having a headache also changing my passwords and trying to keep safe all the info i had in there...
but i had no backing of all the things, as they took the computer and also the external hardrive...
:(

i'm just planning in a big big black cloud but i know it will drift away, and I have all my friends and i feel wrapped by them

I carry though the warm heart of having met Mike burn again (thank you my friend for the hug and encouragement) and the wonderful time I had there, it was a BLAST!!
